Development of a Database Management System for Reducing Time to Prepare Documents of Procurement Spare Parts and Maintenance: A Case Study in a Logistic Industry

Abstract

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อลดระยะเวลาการจัดทำเอกสารสั่งซื้อวัสดุ อะไหล่และเอกสารว่าจ้างซ่อมบำรุง และเพื่อพัฒนาระบบการจัดการงานซ่อมบำรุงของบริษัทกรณีศึกษา จากการตรวจสอบข้อมูลการทำงานของบริษัทกรณีศึกษาพบว่ามีปัญหาการค้นหาเอกสารและข้อมูลเอกสารประกอบการทำเอกสารขอซื้อและว่าจ้างซ่อมบำรุงใช้เวลานาน เนื่องจากระบบปัจจุบันมีการจัดเก็บข้อมูลในรูปแบบเอกสารก่อให้เกิดความล่าช้าในการค้นหา รวมทั้งเสี่ยงต่อการชำรุดหรือสูญหายในระหว่างการทำงาน ดังนั้นผู้วิจัยจึงมีแนวคิดในการแก้ไขปัญหาโดยการประยุกต์โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ ในการออกแบบและพัฒนาระบบจัดการฐานข้อมูล หลังจากการออกแบบและพัฒนาเว็บแอปพลิเคชันแล้ว ได้ทำการทดลองใช้กับหน่วยงานซ่อมบำรุงของบริษัทกรณีศึกษา พบว่าสามารถลดระยะเวลาการจัดทำเอกสารลดลงร้อยละ 55.83 ของเวลาการจัดทำเอกสารเดิมคิดเป็นมูลค่า 39,631.35 บาทต่อปี และการใช้กระดาษและหมึกพิมพ์ลดลงร้อยละ 68.49 ของจำนวนการใช้กระดาษ และหมึกพิมพ์เดิม คิดเป็น 61,634.15 บาทต่อปี จึงถือว่าการนำเว็บแอปพลิเคชันมาใช้ในการจัดทำเอกสารช่วยลดระยะเวลาในการทำงานของหน่วยงานให้เร็วขึ้น

The research aims to reduce the time required for material procurement in parts and documentation for maintenance and development of the company's maintenance management system. By checking the workplace data, there was a problem in finding documents and information of purchasing documentation, and hiring maintenance. This causes delays in searching including there is a risk of damage or loss during works. The researcher has an idea to solve the problem by applying a computer program to design and develop database management system. After designing and developing web applications, it was found that the time required for document preparation was reduced by 55.83%. It is worth 39,631.35 baht per year, and can reduce up to 68.49% of paper and ink usage, which is equivalent to 61,634.15 baht per year. This means the designed web application can reduce documentation time of the case study company.
