The Follow-up Study of the Graduates from Architecture Faculty in the Departmant of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok
Abstract
This research aimed to conduct the follow-up study of the graduates Architecture Faculty from Architecture and Design, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, to provide the fundamental guideline in developing the current curriculum according to Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education. The sample consisted of 20 graduates of Bachelor degree, including of 17 of graduates' employees, and of 20 teachers of Architecture. The sample consisted of graduates of Bachelor degree of Architecture Faculty in the Architecture and Design, including graduates' employees, and teachers of Architecture. The research tools included questionnaires and in depth interview, covering 5 areas : Ethics and Moral, Knowledge, Cognitive Skills, Interpersonal Skill and Responsibility, Numerical Analysis, Communication and Information Technology Skills, Practical Skills. The data were analyzed using SPSS program in order to find frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. As for the open-ended questions, content analysis was used. The results revealed that the graduates' employees reported in the similar direction on the ethics and moral, interpersonel relationship and responsibilities including the numerical analysis, communication and information technology at high level. While the graduates reported different opinions from their employees and their teachers on the aspects of knowledge and cognitive skills at moderate level. The graduates’ supervisors find that their subordinates who graduated with Bachelor of Architecture Faculty were at moderately level in Cognitive Skills, Practical Skills, in a high level. But teachers gave their opinions on both sides at a moderate level.
