Development of Life Skills and Career Learning Model for Non-formal Education

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to develop the life skills and career learning model for nonformal education and to evaluate the results of the model implementation. The research procedure comprises 3 phases. Phase1 focused on the development of life skills and career learning model for non-formal education. Phase 2 develop learning sets of life skills and career learning model for nonformal education. Phase 3 was the model implementation to enhance life skills and career of nonformal vocational students. The population in this study covered the students of non-formal vocational students. The sample consisted of 25 volunteer students in batch 43. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics through percentage arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis. The results revealed that: 1) the life skills and career learning model for non-formal education is a systematic model consisting of the input factor comprising 9 objectives of 9 skills stated in online learning module. The process factor includes the learning content and MIAP instruction. The product factor includes the result of learning evaluation, behavior identifying, life skills and career, and feedback. 2) The results of the model implementation revealed that the learners’ achievement scores were statistically higher than those of pretest scores at .05 level. 3) The results of the evaluation on daily life fundamental symbol were at the average of 92.00% higher than the set criteria of 80%. Finally, the sample rated their satisfactions on the developed instructional model at the “much” level (mean = 4.21, S.D = .534).
