Abstract

The aims of this research were to develop and assess the appropriateness of the development model of integrated training course for coaching competency development of trainers in workplaces and to develop and evaluate efficiency of the integrated training course for coaching competency development of trainers in workplaces. The target group of the research comprised supervisors in workplaces who had working experiences over 5 years 14 people. The research finding can be concluded as follows; 1) The result of development and assessment of the integrated training course for coaching competency development of trainers in workplaces revealed the process postulating relationship of 5 elements namely; (1) step of training need analysis, (2) step of design, 3) step of try-out, (4) implementation step, (5) following up step. The model evaluation by experts revealed that the model and all elements of the model had appropriateness in the highest level which was corresponding to the research hypothesis. and 2) The result of the training course development and efficiency evaluation revealed that the objectives of the training course were to nurture trainees of the training course for knowledge, skills and good habits concerning coaching of trainers in workplaces. The training course comprised of 3 topics of self learning package and 4 topics of workshop training. Each topic comprised of content, media, activities and evaluation process. The efficiency evaluation of the training course applying CIPP Model revealed that (1) the context evaluation by experts presented the highest level of correspondence and appropriateness between 7 training topics and the training objectives, (2) the input evaluation of the training course presented appropriateness in the highest level as well as high correspondence in all items between elements of the training course and the behavioral objectives. The try-out result of the training course showed theoretical achievement at 82.85/81.59% and practical achievement at 80.45%, (3) the process evaluation showed theoretical achievement of the training course at 84.53/83.12% and practical achievement of the training course at 83.33%, which were higher than the determined criteria of both theoretical and practical parts. Moreover, trainees of this course reported the highest level of satisfaction for overall of the training, (4) the product evaluation showed satisfaction of supervisors on applying knowledge and skills gained from training to teach in workplaces by trainees in high level in overall. Furthermore, learners reported satisfaction towards teaching of trainers in workplaces in overall in the highest level, meanwhile trainers in workplaces reported satisfaction on learners’ attributes in aspects of thinking, working and problem solving in high level. According to the efficiency evaluation result of the training course, all items reached the determined criteria, it thus can be concluded that the training course was efficient following the research hypothesis.
