The Facilitation Models Development for Disabled Persons at Don Mueang International Airport

Abstract

The purposed of research are: 1) studying the circumstance of facilities for persons with disability at Don Mueang International Airport 2) studying the development of facilities models for the persons with disability at Don Mueang International Airport and 3) giving ideas for develops the facilities for persons with disability. The research methodology included: 1) studying the secondary information 2) attending and observing without participation in academic conference 3) surveying the facilities for persons with disability at Don Mueang International Airport 4) interviewing the eleven samples as four executive persons of Don Mueang International Airport, one specialist in facilitation law, one specialist in facilitation design and five disabled persons by in-depth interviews 5) observing the behavior of disabled person while using facilities after that analysis by triangulation examination. The findings of this research were as follows: 1) The circumstance of facilities for persons with disability at Don Mueang International Airport, that have been improving as (1) the entrance doors number two at the third floor (2) the space for wheelchair parked (3) the ramp (4) the grab bar (5) the toilet for disabled person (6) the elevator for disabled person (7) car parking for disabled person (8) the information signs for disabled person (9) the information point for disabled person and public telephone was found that cannot use 2) the facilitation models for disabled persons have been developing by the ministerial regulation of the Ministry of transportation combines with the universal design to served disabled needs and 3) the service design should be use in case of some facilities cannot development.
