Developing the System Thinking Capability by using Brainstorming to Create Concept Mapping in the First-year Students of Bachelor of Education\, College of Teacher Education\, Phranakhon Rajabhat University

Abstract


The objectives of this study were to study 1) system thinking capability by using brainstorming to create concept mapping 2) the satisfaction to using brainstorming to create concept mapping in the first year students of Bachelor of Education. The sample was 101 students at first-year of Bachelor of education program who enrolled in quality assurance courses. In the first semester of the academic year, 2557. College of Teacher Education. Tools were used: the 5 lesson, the 5 worksheets to develop, the system thinking test and rubrics for assess and the satisfy questionnaire. Methodology consists of three phases: The first phase, preparation to design lesson plan. The second phase, using brainstorming to create concept mapping. And the last phase, to assess system thinking capability and there satisfy. The data were statistically analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Results of the study were as follows: 1) The student’s system thinking capability after using brainstorming to create concept mapping, who’s had good level were 39.60 %, and who’s had low level were 10.89 % And 2) The student’s satisfaction to using brainstorming to create concept mapping at high level. (Mean = 3.81, SD = .46) That can improve the capability of system thinking.
