The Development of Learning Management System for Tablets

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to develop a learning management system for tablets and to investigate the effects of implementing the developed learning management system for tablets. This study consisted of 2 phases, development and implementation phases. The first phases was designed to develop the learning management system for tablets. The second phases was designed to implement the developed system to the students. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, t-test and One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test statistics. The system was developed by the researcher using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. It consisted of 8 components; 1) User Management System, 2) Course Management System, 3) Content Management System, 4) Data Management System, 5) Learning Support System, 6) Notification and Navigation System, 7) Test and Evaluation System, and 8) Reporting Management System. The results were as follows: 1) the efficiency of overall system was validated at the “highest” levels, 2) the students’ learning achievement of experimental group showed that the post-test scores was significantly “higher” than the pre-test scores at the level .01, 3) there was no significant difference between the experimental group and control group at the level .01, 4) the students rated their satisfactions on the developed system at a “high” level, and 5) the lecturers rated their satisfactions on the developed system at a “high” level.
