The Study of Students’ Opinion for Energy Conservation Way in Faculty of Applied Science, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok

Abstract

The research objectives aim to study and compare students’ opinion for energy conservation way in Faculty of Applied Science, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok in four factors. 1) the use of air conditioner for energy conservation. 2) the use of light electricity system for energy conservation. 3) the use of electric appliance for energy conservation. 4) the use of lift for energy conservation. The sample was 350 students enrolling in Bachelor of Science degree in Faculty of Applied Science in the 2010 second semester. The instrument was a questionnaire comprising 5 scales and open-ended survey. Collected data were analyzed for percentage, mean, standard deviation, One-Way ANOVA and pair tested with z-Test by using Microsoft Excel program. As results, 1) an overall students’ opinion for energy conservation way in Faculty of Applied Science was found at a high level. 2) the opinion between full time students and part time students for energy conservation way showed significant differences at .05 level. 3) the opinion of each department showed significant differences at .05 level. 4) The sample suggested many ways in energy conservation which showed the good consciousness for energy conservation in Faculty of Applied Science.
