The Social Media Utilization based on Six Thinking Hats to Enhance Critical Thinking for Mathayomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract


The objectives of this research were 1) to develop the social media utilization based on six thinking hats to enhance critical thinking skills for Mathayomsuksa 5 students according to the quality and 75/75 efficiency criterion, 2) to compare the students’ critical thinking skills that learning through the social media utilization based on six thinking hats, and 3) to study the students’ satisfaction on the social media utilization based on six thinking hats. The research samples were 37 Mathayomsuksa 5 students at Seekan (Wattananunupathum) School that study in 2013 academic year by cluster random sampling. The research tools were 1) the social media utilization based on six thinking hats, 2) the expert’s quality evaluation form, 3) the critical thinking test, and 4) the student’s satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The research findings 1) the social media utilization based on six thinking hats to enhance critical thinking skills showed quality at highest level ( mean = 4.54, mean = 4.56) and showed efficiency at 76.85/74.35 that according to the criteria, 2) the students’ critical thinking skills scores that learn through the social media utilization based on six thinking hats were higher than the pre-test scores at .05 level of significant and 3) the students’ satisfaction on social media utilization based on six thinking hats to enhance critical thinking skills showed at high level ( mean = 3.54, S.D. = 0.92).
