Development of WebQuest Using Collaborative Learning for Information System in Organization of Higher Education
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) develop WebQuest and figure out efficiency by using collaborative learning for Information System in Organization of higher education, 3) compare learning achievement before and after conducting WebQuest by using collaborative learning, and 4) investigate students’ attitude towards WebQuest by applying collaborative learning. The samples consisted of 31 students who registered in 1st Semester, 2012 and they were selected to evaluate for the efficiency of lessons. Another group of samples included 29 students who registered in 1st Semester, 2013 and they were selected to study the learning achievement before and after conducting WebQuest, and their attitude towards WebQuest using collaborative learning. The research instruments comprised of 13 units of WebQuest applying collaborative learning for Information System in Organization, learning achievement test, and students’ attitude questionnaire. The data were analyzed by utilizing mean, standard deviation, and a t-test. The results found that the efficiency of developed WebQuest using the collaborative learning for Information System in Organization was 81.42/82.27 and it was higher than the defined criteria. Moreover, the students’ learning achievement after using WebQuest and collaborative learning was higher than the previous achievement with a .05 level of statistical significance. Besides, compared means of the opinion of the students’ attitude towards WebQuest using collaborative learning for Information System in Organization was at a high level.
