The Development of the Standard for Industrial Occupational Training
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to investigate the factors of occupational training process, develop the standard for industrial occupation training and develop operation handbook for the industrial occupation training. The study was conducted by investigating both foreign models for industrial occupation training following with synthesizing and developing the suitable industrial occupation training model for Thailand. The results revealed that main aspects in industrial occupation training composed of 13 sub-aspects. 1) The process of training for industrial occupation consists of five sub-factors which are career standard defining. 2) occupational training format, evaluation criteria, trainer qualification defining, and trainee qualification defining the management aspect includes four sub-factors which are occupational stake-holders, training expenses, the unity of policy, the diversity in operation, and personal motivation reinforcement. 3) the quality supporting system consists of two sub-factors which competency defining and trainer development with certified system. 4) the efficiency supporting system includes two sub-factors which are the cooperation of the educational institutes and the enterprises and the suitable payment for the training. The mentioned and aspects and subfactors to define the occupational training based on standard occupational competencies and the operational handbook which contains necessary basic knowledge, guidelines and process of the training and occupational training forms. The results showed that the experts reported high appropriateness of the standard for industrial occupational training. The sample groups reported high and very high satisfaction on the operational handbook at mean = 3.73 and 4.67 respectively.
