An Study of the Correlation Coefficient between Learning Behaviors Tracking System and Learning Achievement
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to: 1) develop a tracking system using xAPI, 2) evaluate the correlation coefficient between Learning Behaviors Tracking System and student learning achievement, and 3) evaluation instructor’s satisfaction upon using Tracking System. The conduct experiment with 108 people first year students and 5 instructors were selected by purposive sampling. The research tool used 1) a tracking system using xAPI. Learning Record Store (LRS) is used for collecting data and 2) the instructor’s satisfaction upon using Tracking System was the 5 rating scale questionnaires. The analyzing statistic was Pearson correlation coefficient, regression, mean and standard deviation. Research findings were as follows: 1) the correlation coefficient between Learning Behaviors Tracking System had a correlation coefficient and student achievement of Time management had a correlation coefficient of .231, the Concentration had .208, the Information processing had .382, the Selecting main idea had .516, the Self-testing had .471, the Test strategies had .205 the educational acceptance had .316, the Study orientation had .195 and the Self-efficacy had .283 2) the instructors reported high satisfaction towards the developed tracking system at high level (X
