A Study on Opinion of Bachelor Students for Continuing Their Degree at Faculty of Technical Education King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangko

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study an opinion of bachelor students for continuing their degree at Faculty of Technical Education King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. The population of the study was composing of 305 students out of 605 students who were studying at this faculty and registered for 2nd semester in 2008 that included 4 departments of Technical Training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Computer Education. The questionnaire method was utilized to gather data from the subjects in different aspects. In order to analyze the results, the SPSS/PC program was utilized to find percentage, average and standard deviation. The findings of the study were that most of the subjects were male in age of 20 and came from central part of Thailand. The average grade point of the subjects was range of 2.00-2.49. Most of them have 2-3 brothers or sisters and stayed in dormitories during study. Their parents are mostly farmer with income less than 10,000 baths per month and still live together. They decided to study because of their family expectation to work for government officer or state enterprise. Considering the reason why they decided to study in this faculty, The finding were that there are 6 following factors that strongly influence on their decision making namely: (1) personal interesting with average of 3.88 (2) job characteristics with average of 4.12 (3) opportunity with average of 4.29 (4) prestigious with average of 4.00 (5) financial with average of 3.43 (6) convenience with average of 3.51.
